3 Years Baby ~

As we all know, the first week of August is quite crazy. From Tiffany’s birthday to SNSD’s anniversary week. This post will mark the beginning of the special posts dedicated to SNSD’s 3rd anniversary! Don’t let this overshadow the Mushroom’s birthday though, pleaes check out the numerous posts that have been published specially for her!

Scientific research has stated that women can use between 20,000 to 24,000 words in a day. Let’s talk math real quick then…

SNSD has been together for three years and there is a total of nine girls. Since they talk so much…let’s say they each use 24,000 words in a day (I’m probably underestimating). That adds up to about 236520000 words used by the group as a whole. Wow. All those words..can you imagine what kind of sentences could be formed?

In these long but fun 3 years we’ve spent with SNSD, we’ve heard the girls say the craziest, funniest, and most tear jerking things. Those words that become sentences are the factors that make us love the girls so much more. Let’s take a look at some of the best quotes our Soshi girls have ever said.

“It wasn’t actually like it has to be 9 girls. It was actually about like nine different girls that are extremely talented and all very, very good in their own special way or specialties.” – Tiffany

And nine different girls fo sho. Different heights, different skin colors, different talents. All these differences brought these ladies together as one. You can’t find any other group out there as unique as this.

I don’t know about you but that’s some talent right thurr… anyway

“We are not the fragile or the girls that needs to be protected. We are the girls that can entertain our fans and shout “Cheer up!” We don’t want to give off the fragile-girl image. We want to be the girls that are cheerful, pure and most importantly, girls that can be your friend.”- SNSD

These girls certainly cheer us up with their unique individuality. And please ladies, I’m sure all of us SONES NEED to be your friend. N.O.W. NOW. Speaking of which…

At the sound of her demands, fans run to the store and throw themselves into the hair section, looking for the perfect hair spray to give to the Sergeant.

One of the reasons why we love SNSD so much is that Soshibond…a bond that no other girl group has.

“It’s not a lie to say that they are my second family. It’s like I got 7 unnies and 1 dongsaeng? Since we saw each other for about 5 years, I can tell what they are thinking just by looking into their eyes.” – Yoona

Ray Bans for the Gee album photos? A little over $900 for all of them. A week’s worth of food? Well I won’t even go there. The numerous hours of training, tears shed, every ounce of sweat and hard work the girls put into every song, album, performance? Priceless.

But since this is their anniversary, let’s go back to a more serious tone. Read these upcoming quotes and keep in mind that the path snsd took to get here wasn’t a stroll in the park. If they didn’t have each other, well, let’s just say we wouldn’t have the Girls Generation that we adore.

And now, to the shortest girl of the group, I give you props for one of the greatest quotes of all time.

People always underestimated our girls. How is it ever possible that 9 girls can live together and work together at the same time? Sure, fights do happen but Sunny’s quote says it all. They hold each other up in difficult times. One’s pain is everyone’s pain. One’s joy is everyone’s joy. This is what makes SNSD so special, they share everything. Not just concrete things like their dorm or a van but also their feelings and emotions.

“And then, of course, I have another family. I can’t leave out those 8 girls, who we really are like nine sisters.. SNSD. I don’t know how they may appear on the outside but on the inside, they’re all so open and pure and bright. They’re like little children at times but many other times, I really feel like they’re so mature and strong. Sometimes, they’re like 8 unnies and other times, like 8 dongsaengs, or 8 friends, and at times, like my mom and dad too. Taeyeon, whose laughter is so cute yet is like a mother to us. And Sooyoung, whose like the dad or like the oppa.. Shikshin Sooyoung. And then Jessica, who is like our unnie but her heart is so young and open. And then there’s the one who listens to all my worries and talks me through them together like I’m her child, Miyoung.. hehe Tiffany! And then, although it seems like she wouldn’t, she actually does take care of me so well and she’s so considerate and caring of me, Hyoyeon. And then, the one who shares a room with me and despite how messy and disorderly I am, she always understands me. And although we may spend the whole night up chatting, she always gets up early and wakes me up, our Yuri! And then there’s Yoona, although she’s so young, the way she thinks is so mature and respectful. And then despite the fact that she’s the maknae, she really doesn’t seem like it. She’s so young and pure to the point that she still loves children stories but without her, we cannot be SNSD… our Seohyun. Friends who are all so lovable and always make me so happy. They’re my family now. They always protect me and care for me so well.” – Sunny
